ANOTHER FANTASTIC SIDE OF COMIC BOOK ARTIST GEORGE TUSKA !!!

A lot of us know George Tuska for his terrific Marvel and DC superhero comic book artwork, but what about the other stuff? Beside all the romance, war and westerns he drew, and believe me, there were many.

I remember George for his work at Harvey, Tower and Gold Key Comics. Let us not forget his Planet of the Apes and Shanna for Marvel Comics. I am also going to mention the Tex Dawson, Gun-Slinger #1 he drew in order to also draw attention to that great Jim Steranko cover.

Tuska drew the first issue of Spyman for Harvey Comics. It featured a hand designed by Jim Steranko as part of his first professional work in comic books. He also drew a terrific cover for Thrill-O-Rama #2 Pirana.

Additionally, George provided comic book artwork on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. #3 (with Don Heck no less!) Twilight Zone #6 (again with Don Heck) and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea #2 for Gold Key Comics.

At Tower Comics, Tuska worked on T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents portraying the controversial Menthor T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agent, (Enter the...) Raven and Weed (one of my favorite T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents
characters.)

With Warren, George drew a couple of stories in their classic Creepy magazine.

More recently, Dynamite Comics' Peter Cannon Thunderbolt #1 featured a George Tuska cover. Also, I wanted to mention his Secret Origins #4 featuring Firestorm, a new character coming to the CW's The Flash series with Robbie Amell playing the role. Glad to hear it since I liked the Tomorrow People they cancelled.

I hope you have enjoyed these other great works by George Tuska as much as I have. If you want to find out more about him, check out this awesome book: The Art of George Tuska by Dewey Cassell

Thank You.
