T.H.U.N.D.E.R. AGENT NOMAN -- WORK...WORK...WORK !!!

Here's another Steve Ditko NoMan storyline I missed, until recently, from Wally Wood's T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #3 & #4, written by Stephen (Creepy. Epic Illustrated) Perry with art by Steve (Static, Missing Man) Ditko & Greg (Jack Kirby's Fourth World Omnibus) Theakston inks!

Origin recap: Dying scientist Anthony Dunn transfers his mind into an android body of his own design. With a wide number of these identical bodies, he can transfer his mind to any of them should something happen to the one he is in. The addition of an Invisibility Cloak completes the transformation into NoMan.

Wally Wood's T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agent #3
"Work...Work...Work...Work...Work"
While working on improving his android bodies and T.H.U.N.D.E.R.'s budget, NoMan crosses paths with Cyrano De Klopps, a microchip billionaire that uses refracted light for disguises and has had several of his limbs replaced with cybernetic technology.

Iron Maiden, what a fantastic character!

Wally Wood's T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #4
"An Alien Nation"
The Chief assigns NoMan to hunt down Cyrano de Klopps, who not only has replaced his real arm with a cybernetic one, but has also stolen Dr. Jennings' T.H.U.N.D.E.R. weapons blueprints in order to create the THUNDER suit.
Story continued from last issue.

I thought the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents Archives were going to end with the Tower Comics, glad it continued!

You don't want to miss these stories reprinted in the gorgeous DC Comics T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents Archive Vol. 7 hardcover. Also included is the terrific OMNI Comix #3 story, with art by Paul Gulacy. The Deluxe Comics had great George Perez covers, art by George Perez, Murphy Anderson, Dave Cockrum, Jerry Ordway, Keith Giffen, Rich Buckler and others. Fantastic writers including Steve Englehart and others.

Fun stories in the vein of the original T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents stories, more than a little goofy, with some clever stuff involving NoMan switching bodies and really great inking by GregTheakston. \

Well worth it for a Ditko fan, to seek these issues out.

Reprint series with new Ditko cover!

Thank You!

One of my faves, Michael Golden doing the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, from the crossover with Justice Machine!
George Perez on the Deluxe Comics T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents!
Loved these T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents profiles in the Tower Comics!

  1. Gotta love THUNDER agents ...I held off on getting volume 7 for a long long time. Mostly pretty good but the last few stories are atrociously bad and uberviolent nonsense. Totally tone deaf to the original.

  3. I haven't seen this comic book since I was about 10 years old. I could never find it and finally I did a google search and there it was. You'd be surprised how current this technology is today. That was only about 50 years ago.Anyway, it was fun reading them and I enjoyed them very much instead of the usual homework or Encyclopedia for fun. I later went into law enforcement and enjoyed doing my jobs.
