Most of Pat Boyette's portfolio was for Charlton Comics, where he co-created Peacemaker, one of my favorite characters. After DC Comics acquired the rights to the Charlton line of superheroes, Peacemaker was the basis for Alan Moore's Comedian Watchmen character.
Pat was also the artist on Children of Doom, written by Denny O'Neil (under the pen name Sergius O'Shaugnessy), was a great, powerful story to me. I loved it, it was one of the best comic book story I'd ever read. You've got to go out and get it, it's that good!
Boyette would draw, and often write, hundreds of stories for Charlton, for such Supernatural series as Ghost Manor, Ghostly Tales & The Many Ghosts of Doctor Graves, Science fiction series like Outer Space, Strange Suspense Stories & Space Adventures, Western series such as Billy the Kid, Cheyenne Kid & Outlaws of the West; Romance comics such as Love Diary & Secret Romance, War comics like Attack & Fightin' Marines, the prehistoric adventure series Korg: 70,000 B.C., and the licensed-character series Flash Gordon, The Phantom & The Six Million Dollar Man. Boyette also took over the writing & artwork for Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt, succeeding creator Pete Morisi (PAM.)
Pat worked on Classics Illustrated for First Comics as well as stories in the fabulous Red Circle Sorcery series. Boyette worked on Blackhawk for DC Comics & went to Warren to work on Creepy & Vampirella.
Boyette worked at Atlas Comics (Seaboard) on The Tarantula & also did Turok #18 for Acclaim Comics.
Pat Boyette was awesome, with an insane amount of work left behind, was obviously a workhorse like John Buscema.
