RED NAILS - ROBERT E. HOWARD'S LAST CONAN TALE !!!

"You see, girl, when a civilization begins to decay and die, the only thing men or women think about is the gratification of their body's desires. They become preoccupied with sex. It colors their laws, their religion – every aspect of their lives." Robert E. Howard.

In Marvel Treasury Edition #4, Conan the Barbarian's Red Nails was adapted by Roy Thomas, from the short story "Red Nails" by Robert E. (Ervin) Howard, the creator of Conan. The three part story was originally presented in Savage Tales #2 & #3.

So, without further ado, here's the conclusion of  Conan the Barbarian in "Red Nails."

Marvel Treasury Edition #4
As noted in Roy Thomas' intro, the cover is taken from a Gorblimey Press portfolio with the artwork copyrighted in the indicia to Gorblimey Press. Smith founded his own company, The Gorblimey Press, to publish prints and graphic stories by himself and other artists.
"The Lurker from the Catacombs"
Conan the Barbarian and Valeria are hired by Prince Olmec to defend his side of the strange walled city.
Written by Roy (Alter Ego, The Avengers, Arak Son of Thunder) Thomas and illustrated by Barry (Weapon X, Rune, Unity) Windsor-Smith.
Roy Thomas' editorial explains the story was re-colored by Barry Windsor-Smith, with the assistance of Linda Lessman. Thomas also notes that Smith re-inked a page "here and there" while Thomas re-wrote a line or two.

Don't miss the last chapter of Red Nails -- coming very soon!

The Lancer & Ace edition were my first exposure reading Red Nails!

The lavish Berkely edition was not only published in paperback, but trade paperback and hardcover (with slipcover) editions as well! Great Ken Kelly poster!
If you cannot wait, the original Robert E. Howard story Red Nails has been printed in some handsome book editions, both hardcover and paperback. It still blows my mind how many stories he wrote in his short lifetime.

By the way, in addition to this paperback, if you haven't read the tie-in novel to the Jason Momoa movie, you'd do well to read it. Michael A. Stackpole did one bang up job writing it. I recommend it!
This title includes Red Nails, part of a terrific trade paperback series I believe covers all of Robert E. Howard's fantastic stories and larger than life characters, Kull, Bran Mac Morn, Solomon Kane, with lots of superb extras and powerful illustrations! Available in ebook format as well! Very Highly Recommended!

Fine hardcover edition of Sanjulian fabulous illustrations of Robert E. Howard's powerful heroes. Highly Recommended!

Live Large My Friends!

Thank You!
