It's still one of my favorite Gold Key Comics after all these years, Tiger Girl. I enjoyed the great Jerry Siegel script and the fantastic Jack Sparling art, but man, but why just one issue? Really? After all, look at that gorgeous cover! Worth the price of admission alone.

Lily Taylor was an aerialist with the Dingaling and South Circus. She shared a mental link with the circus's star, a Bengal tiger she named Kitten.

Dressed in a tiger-skin leotard, cowl, boots and red domino mask, as the terrific pussycat Tiger Girl, she teamed with Ed Savage of W.A.A.V. (War Against Arch-Villainy) to battle malefactors such as Wolf Hound. Now, enjoy the complete story!

Tiger Girl and Kitten defeat the Growler, an agent of the insideous group I.N.F.A.M.Y. Ed Savage -- an agent of W.A.A.V. -- insists Tiger Girl give up a life of heroing. She ignores him and returns to the circus, where she is an aerialist and animal trainer in her civilian identity. I.N.F.A.M.Y. then sends Wolf Hound and his killer wolf to defeat Tiger Girl and Kitten once and for all.

Told in two parts.

It would be nice to see a reprint of this, along with other Gold Key Heroes missing in action.

An original superheroine, done in Siegel's camp style. There's a 'next issue' box, but unfortunately, only one issue published. Siegel characterized Tiger Girl as an outspoken feminist when feminism wasn't cool. Perhaps she would have fared better as Tiger Woman.
