MANKIND HAS FOUND A CHAMPION IN -- THE PEACEMAKER !!!

Finally, Christopher Smith looks back on how it all began, in The Peacemaker #4. I loved the cover, just like any of the masterful Pat Boyette covers, it's dynamic enough to be a movie poster. We can dream! 

The Peacemaker is Christopher Smith, a pacifist diplomat so committed to peace that he was willing to use force as a superhero to advance the cause. He uses an array of special non-lethal weapons and also founds the Pax Institute. Most of the villains he goes up against are dictators and warlords.

Both stories are straight up Silver Age action. Just the way I like it. I was glad that the Sentinels of Justice were not used as The Watchmen. I enjoyed them just as they were. 

The iconic Watchmen, freely adapted from the Charlton Action Heroes. The Peacemaker was the basis for The Comedian.

Charlton Premiere #2 brought us Pat Boyette's The Spookman. Truly remarkable character currently being printed in the Charlton Arrow, from Roger McKenzie & Sandy Carruthers.

Charlton Premiere #2 presented one of my all time favorite comic book stories, from Denny O'Neil & Pat Boyette! Gave me chills! This outstanding tale has been reprinted in the following Space War #32 comic book.

 

More recently, O'Neil & Boyette's "Children of Doom" was reprinted in the Art in Time hardcover anthology (with more awesome art by Bill Everett, Jesse Marsh, Tony Tollarico, Pete Morisi & Sam Glanzman.)
