Here it is, the last Blue Beetle story prior to getting his own comic book. Oh happy days! His own comic book series! Can hardly wait!
Captain Atom #86
"The Masked Marauder"

If you're a Charlton fan, you have to have this in your collection. Includes a couple of unpublished comics! |
The Action Heroes Archives Volume 2
"The Masked Marauder"
The Blue Beetle faces Count von Steuben, the Masked Marauder.
Plot & art by Steve Ditko, script by Gary Friedrich.
Reprints Captain Atom #86.
Nightshade replaced Blue Beetle in Captain Atom #87. |
Esteemed comic book writer Steven Grant's letter from Captain Atom #89. |
In Captain Atom #87, Nightshade took over as the back-up feature, revealing her origin, on through to the end of the Captain Atom series. Jim Aparo's artwork never looked better. There was even a fan letter from a young Steven (Punisher, Rook) Grant in Captain Atom #89.
I've covered Nightshade previously in my posts! Jim Aparo was a perfect fit! |
Another great hard to find fantastic Charlton publication. The CPL Portfolio was a fantastic magazine hosting a terrific Don (The Phantom) Newton cover inked by Bob (Iron Man) Layton. |
Live Large My Friends!
Thank You!
Blue Beetle #1 came out the same month as his last appearance in Captain Atom. In the back-up feature, Steve Ditko introduces The Question! |
