BLAST-OFF PRESENTS -- THE THREE ROCKETEERS !!!

Blast-Off was a outstanding one-shot comic book from Harvey Thrillers, composed of fantastic new worlds with the Three Rocketeers material intended to be published as Race For The Moon #4. The Rocketeers first appeared in Race for the Moon #3. I've always loved this Joe Simon cover!

Always loved these introduction pages in the Harvey Thrillers comics!

The New Adventures of The Three Rocketeers: rugged Sgt. Beefy Brown, adventurous Captain Kip McCoy & scientific Figures Faraday. From the Moon to Mars to the distant stars you'll never find more courageous and exciting new heroes than these men of the space age. You'll want to follow them across the vast reaches of space to strange worlds where fantastic mysteries lie waiting.

Blast-Off #1
"Lunar Goliaths"

"The Great Moon Mystery"
In this story, astronauts discover a million year-old alien monolith on the moon, which sends them on a psychedelic journey through alien landscapes. Sound familiar? Somehow Kirby seems to have foretold Kubrick and Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey in 1959!
Written & illustrated by Jack (Fantastic Four) Kirby & inked by Al (Flash Gordon) Williamson

The next Three Rocketeers story would be published in Unearthly Spectaculars #2.

Unearthly Spectaculars #2
"How the Three Rocketeers Teamed Up"
Written by Otto (Spyman) Binder with Mike (Justice League of America, Man from U.N.C.L.E.) Sekowsky art.

Unearthly Spectaculars #3
"1...2...3...Infinity"
Written by Otto Binder with Bill (Spyman) Draut artwork.

Now that I've gotten back into The Three Rocketeers, I need to find this book!
What a gem! Fantastic over-sized trade paperback of Al Williamson artwork!

The stories in this comic book were reprinted in Titan Books' The Simon and Kirby Library Science Fiction hardcover. The dustjacket art is from a splash page to a story from Race For The Moon #2. "The Great Moon Mystery" was also reprinted in AC's America's Greatest Comics #12.

The Three Rocketeers first appeared in Race for the Moon #3!

It doesn't get more fantastic than this. Classic Jack Kirby & Al Williamson to thrill the senses. Fun times to be had by all.
Original Joe Simon, Jack Sparling & Wally Wood cover for Unearthly Spectaculars #2!
Original art for another from Blast-Off #1 from Howard (Golden Age The Shadow & Doc Savage) Nostrand!

Live Large My Friends!

Thank You!

Some of Jack Kirby's mind blowing art from his 2001 adaptation!
