In the mid-seventies, Jim Starlin was expanding his cosmic creativity and sky-rocketing as a superstar among the likes of Jack "King" Kirby, Steve (Captain Atom) Ditko & Jim (Nick Fury) Steranko.
When fellow creator Mike (Captain Marvel, Werewolf by Night) Friedrich founded his comic book company Star*Reach with it's flagship title, Star*Reach. Jim Starlin was there to contribute high-quality graphics and provocative stories the likes of which he couldn't possibly do in Captain Marvel or Warlock.
Star*Reach #1 was filled with Starlin's vision concerning drugs, death and religion. Here's Starlin unleashed with Uncle Mort introducing "...The Birth of Death!" & "The Origin of God!" Jim Starlin's cover was the back cover to the first printing and the front cover of the later printings.

These stories went on to be reprinted in Star*Reach Classics #1, sporting a stunning Frank (Alien Legion) Cirocco cover
