AROUND THE WORLD -- TWENTY THOUSAND LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA !!!

Gold Key Comics published Walt Disney's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, an adaption of the spectacular Walt Disney motion picture, illustrated by legendary Frank (Mighty Samson) Thorne, most famous for his interpretation of Robert E. Howard's Red Sonja.

Love this painting when I came across it!

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea tells the story of Captain Nemo and his fantastic submarine, Nautilus, as seen from the perspective of Professor Pierre Aronnax after he, his servant Conseil, and Canadian whaler Ned Land wash up on their ship.

On the Nautilus, the three embark on a journey which has them going all around the world, under the sea.

Another terrific Gil Kane (with Dan Adkins) cover!
Marvel Comics came out with a comic book adaptation as well.

The original Classics Illustrated cover!

Classics Illustrated had a number of reprints with various covers.

Originally saw this advertized in Warren Magazines, now I wish I'd ordered it!

There was also a record album released with a gorgeous Wally Wood cover.

Don't forget about the classic novels by visionary Jules Verne. He provided us with a great body of work to spark our fertile imaginations.

Ace Books published some lavish paperbacks of lesser known works of his, in a gorgeous format.

Great View Master slides!
