WE ALL LIVE IN A YELLOW SUBMARINE, A YELLOW SUBMARINE, A YELLOW SUBMARINE!!!

All You Need is Love! Love! Love is All You Need!

A whimsical look at Gold Key's Yellow Submarine was a one shot comic book illustrated by the talented Jose Delbo. And what a revolutionary comic book it was in terms of artistic content. And who could forget those Blue Meanies?

Yellow Submarine #1   It's an ever-lovin' SUB-in!
"Yellow Submarine"
Written by the prolific Paul S. (Doctor Solar, 77 Sunset Strip) Newman and illustrated by Jose (Mod Squad, Rat Patrol) Delbo.
The comic book was illustrated in the same style as the animated movie, ala Peter Max style cartoons. Pretty wild, even in the day.
However, the comic was based on an early draft of the film, so it does differ from the theatrical movie, with music not included in the final cut.
The comic book also includes a 12-1/2"x20" Beatles poster.
It is the second rarest Beatles comic book published.

By the way, the rarest of the Beatles comics was from Dell Giant Comics. One I only recently discovered and have yet to see.

The Beatles #1
"The Beatles"
Biography of the Beatles illustrated by Joe Sinnott, of Treasure Chest & Fantastic Four fame!
The story is broken into five chapters. The overall story of The Beatles consists of 3 pages at the front and 24 pages at the back. In between are chapters on Paul McCartney, George Harrison, John Lennon and Ringo Starr.
Front cover is a photo of the Beatles.
Back cover is an illustration of the Beatles

Illustration from the Beatles Saturday morning cartoon. Fun times!
So, a couple of The Beatles gems from the sixties.

I hope you've enjoyed the trip down memory lane.

Live Large My Friends!

Thank You!
