Tom Sutton (aka Dementia) illustrated a certain Star-Lord character you may have heard of, such as the one in the new movie Guardians of the Galaxy! (cannot wait to see the movie this Thursday night!)
Tom has worked for Warren, Marvel, DC, Charlton & First Comics (Grimjack), along with time as a commercial artist.
Sutton drew many stories for Charlton in their Ghost Manor, Midnight Tales, Monster Hunters & Many Ghosts of Doctor Graves titles.
Tom provided a lot of artwork for Warren in their fantastic Creepy, Eerie & Vampirella (the first to illustrate Vampirella herself!) classic horror magazines.
At Marvel, Sutton drew Ghost Rider, Man-Thing, Planet of the Apes, Not Brand Echh! (great stuff!) & Star-Lord (in Marvel Premiere #61.)
With DC, Tom illustrated House of Secrets, House of Mystery (including I...Vampire), Batman #400 & (a great run of nearly all issues of) Star Trek.
Sutton also drew Fiction Illustrated #1, a fantastic Byron Preiss (Weird Heroes!) production for Pyramid Publications, Schlomo Raven (one of the digest graphic novels that Jim Steranko also contributed to, with Chandler!)
Tom Sutton has drawn a lot, I mean a lot, of great horror and humor stories over the years, keeping us well entertained.

Jason Momoa (Conan, Stargate Atlantis) is going to play Aquaman in the movies, but did you know that Golden & Silver Age comic book artist Paul Norris co-created the original character?
Back in the Golden Age, Paul illustrated Sandman & Aquaman (which he also co-created) . His Aquaman origin showed up in Secret Origins #7 in the Silver Age.
Over the years, Norris drew comic strips, 35 years of Brick Bradford & filled in on Secret Agent X-9.
Paul did some impressive artistic runs on Magnus, Robot Fighter #24-#28 & most of all on Tarzan #188-#206.
Norris also worked on Flash Gordon #1 & Tono and Kono, The Jungle Twins #1. He co-created the Jungle Twins. Of European birth, the twins were raised by an African chief, traveling through Africa,
having adventures. It was later revealed they were of royal decent,
their parents being the rulers of Glockenberg, a fictional kingdom in Europe.
On a lighter note, Paul illustrated Dynomutt, in Marvel Comics' TV Stars #3 which sported an Alex Toth cover & Space Ghost story, with the Herculoids drawn by Will Meugniot (DNA Agents) and Dave Stevens (Yes, The Rocketeer creator!) Mark Evanier wrote these three great stories.
Paul Norris well deserves a tip of the hat, for his various contributions to comic books.

Reed Crandall worked for Marvel, DC, Eclipse, Harvey, Warren, Treasure Chest, Dell, King & Tower Comics. His early career was in children's books and extensively in Golden Age Comic Books (EC Comics, Captain America, Blackhawk & Doll Man.)
I remember Reed, during the Silver Age, most fondly for his work on Creepy, Eerie & Dynamo. He also worked on Blazing Combat, Flash Gordon & Treasure Chest.
Crandall was a fantastic comic book artist, loved his use of shadowing. He drew comics from 1939 to 1973, with his last story, "This Graveyard is Not Deserted," published in Creepy #54.
Reed Crandall was referenced in Michael Chabon's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. The fictional character Joe Kavalier refers to Crandall as the "top" comic-book artist of his era
